Four years ago, my life changed when my sister, Courtney, passed away suddenly. I began to question what a person’s impact on Earth should look like and how I should move forward after this tragedy. This questioning led me to a deep faith in Christ. For the past four years I have been busy remodeling my life in an effort to honor God and continually asking him to guide my next steps. He has led me to quit my full time corporate sales job, start volunteering for a missions organization, plan and help execute a young women’s yearly retreat, and become heavily involved in my church community leading multiple studies and a weekly high school group. In the past year, God sent me to Africa in February and again miraculously quickly in March. After these trips, my heart set on fire and I’ve become vocal about the needs abroad and our role in The Great Commission as people with many blessings and resources in America.

The World Race is an 11 month Christian mission trip to 11 countries around the world. One of the unique things about the World Race is that it’s not only a mission trip but also an intensive discipleship program designed to launch my generation into our specific kingdom calling. Through the World Race, my team and I will serve in Australia, Indonesia, India, Nepal, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Spain and Morocco in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to preach the Gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to women and children trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking, and bring the restorative hope of the Father’s love to many tribes and nations. Above all, we will be devoted to serving the local people and developing relationships with them! This was Christ’s model for evangelism and I am excited to be a part of the Great Commission in these unreached countries.

I believe this is a new step that God is asking me to make in faith. I am excited for all that I will learn in the months leading up to the trip, during the trip, and after I return home. I believe God is going to “do a good work in me” as a result of this incredible opportunity and though my life for the next year will look vastly different, I feel called and excited about what is next.

I will face many challenges all throughout the World Race, but as I prepare for my departure, one of my greatest challenges is my financial support. Like most other missions organizations, World Race participants are required to fundraise. In order to leave fully funded in January, I need to raise $20,000 with $5,000 raised by the end of September. This money will cover all of my field expenses for the 11 months of the trip.

I have learned that it is a noble and honorable thing to invite and involve others in extending and expanding the kingdom of God. Please prayerfully consider how you would be willing to support me during this trip—either through prayer, financial support or both. All donations are tax-deductible. Thank you for partnering with me and supporting me as I prepare for this adventure! I look forward to letting you know how the trip impacted my life when I return!
